Building the National Engineer, Mexican Mining Engineers and the Global Connections 1910-1936.

This paper explores the transformation of international relations of the National School of Engineers of Mexico. It analyzes the relationship with foreign engineers working in the country and the connections established for foreign training of Mexican engineers, in the context of the Mexican Revolution. It starts with the integration of the School of engineers into the National University and ends with the creation of the first public polytechnic school in the country, the National Polytechnic Institute, and maps the transformations of the engineers during the transition from a globally integrated economy to a nationalistic state-led model.
