New opportunities for British, Irish and Empire Social Historical Research

Ian Corns, The Social History Archive

The Social History Archive (TSHA) is the largest primary source digital archive for British, Irish and Empire academic research from 1690 to today. It offers over 2,600 titles and over 86m pages drawn directly from the British Newspaper Archive, which we digitise and host for the British Library, alongside 3.6bn transcripts from 400m images covering hundreds of archives, including from The National Archive, imperial War Museum and many more. Recently launched in North America, this session will practically explore this content through an academic lens, and ask the question what new research opportunities could this previously unavailable content offer to drive new research opportunities.
